I check my livejournal often but I was playing around with it for the first time in awhile just now and I noticed that my default icon had changed without my knowing it. A handful of other icons had been changed to random other icons and some had just been inverted. I'm not sure what did that, but it feels like some sort of bad omen. lol

7:57 pm - Cause Sometimes Dreams Just Don't Come True~

So, this girl I'd been talking to for a short while messages me out of the blue to let me know that she couldn't go out with me because she'd be leaving for school this summer and that she wouldn't want to grow attached knowing it'd probably end badly. I only bring this up because I find it somewhat funny. I've found a way to completely bypass the entire relationship and get right down to the break up. I'm getting to be quite efficient, mates.
The last time I wrote a serious entry I spoke of how I was anxious for Black Friday. Well, that came and went and wasn't nearly as bad as the past week has been. It's funny how a year can allow you to forget how utterly stupid people become over the holiday shopping season. I'm sorry, just because you demand it to be, doesn't mean that little Jimmy's gotta have item is going to spawn right behind me. I'm sorry I won't do something stupid to get myself fired so you can get X item. And no, we don't have any fucking Wii's, so quit asking. We had a hundred, I repeat that, a hundred, of those little white boxes in stock through out the months of October and November, and no one wanted them. I hit up a few regulars whom I knew had been looking for them last year.. not a single bite. Now it's the middle of December and holy fucking Moses, you've gotta have one. All I have to say now is:
Left 4 Dead is still my poison of choice. I haven't been able to force myself through any of the expert missions but playing through Advanced and doing the Versus with Gilley and others has been more than enough to keep me entertained. Call of Duty: World at War isn't nearly as good as COD4 is / was but it's not all that bad either. If nothing else, it's introduced me to the Sizzler.
I have to work the 8 a.m. shift till Christmas. So it looks like I have to start winding down now if I expect to rest at all. Fun times I tell you, fun times. Peace.

3:34 pm - NXE, Gears 2, And Other Random Misadventures~

The New Xbox Experience launched earlier this week and I have to say that so far I've enjoyed the changes to the dashboard. The avatars, while a blatant rip off of the Nintendo Miis, don't do anything to really get in the way and I had fun just tinkering with mine. The guide button is a whole lot more streamlined than the previous incarnation. Not to mention the fact that the old model began lagging a good deal for me during the last few months. Having the guide pop in the center of the screen, without lagging, is a nice touch for me. Plus you can browse the Marketplace from the guide now which is a neat feature if you find yourself unable to move in a lobby.
I only bought it so soon because J.P and others were playing it and I never really thought I'd get into it, but Gears of War 2 has been a big bag of awesome this week. The campaign has been improved upon and it looks like I might actually be able to 1K this one. Nice.
Black Friday is next week. I don't care how retarded it gets, I'm sorta looking forward to it.

Dead Space was, and is, an amazing game. I had absolutely no interest in this game up until it's launch. It wasn't until we took a whack at it at work that I became interested. It was a tad short for my taste but the style and game play managed to pave over that issue for me.
Now I just have to wait for Left 4 Dead... and perhaps Call of Duty: World at War if my zombie fetish isn't sated. I'm quite anxious for those two titles to drop.

So it would seem that the Mother 3 patch has finally been completed. I spent a little over an hour playing the game. Not too bad, but I cannot get a grasp on the whole music combo system. From what I've read, you don't get any assistance with that until sometime into the second chapter. Fantastic.

11:30 pm - Too Little...~

A lesson life has been teaching me over the past year is that things only come to me when I quit caring about them. A recent example would be my work situation. I've been up for a promotion for going on four months now. I've had to prod my boss to fight with our DM to even get my interview in the first place, let alone get the position. It took almost two months for that to happen and once it did, things stalled out. I'd pretty well quit caring about it a few weeks ago. Then today I find out that I did get it and should notice the rate increase next go round.
I'm not certain if this is just how life goes for everyone else but holy shit, it's a lesson I'm beginning to learn the hard way. It almost makes me wonder what other things will come my way if I just stop giving a shit, ya know?

3:26 am - Rock Band 2: Part 1~

I'm going back to posting inane bullshit, being that my serious ones don't seem to have enough pzazz.
So, it took me a couple days to get the game properly synced up with my TV but I finally managed and the game is playing well. They've definitely ramped up the rape factor on a lot of the new songs, but it's not been too bad so far. If anyone actually plays on xbox live, hit me up. We could use a decent vocalist.
They've changed the way the world tour works. This time around you join the party and just kinda go in between the menus. The tour, challenges, and the rock shop. When the leader is ready to actually "play" it pops a message saying they're in the tour room or what have you. In turn, it tells the leader the other members are doing whatever. That feature led to this bit of dialogue which I find to be amusing:
Chi: get out of the rockshop.
Flik Nightshade: Gimme a second.
Flik Nightshade: I like to look good.
Chi: they shouldn't allow that online
Chi: its annoying
Flik Nightshade: Don't get cranky while I get sexy.
Chi: im not even gonna comment on that (
Flik Nightshade: 1sec
Chi: have you had a bass solo yet?

Chi: thats what im wearing

Also, with the ability to form bands online this time around, we've finally settled on a band name / theme. Our band rules your band in every single way. Don't question it!

So, hang overs a great. I would recommend them to everyone I know. But that is only because I dislike just about everyone I know.
